People of Purpose launched its faith based initiative, PRESENT HELP is a COMMUNITY COALITION of nonprofits, churches, businesses, community groups, leaders, volunteers, and partners that work together to help families in need that are affected by natural disasters and poverty. We offer services and resources to families in need to ensure we are reaching everyone together. We are committed to do whatever it takes for “Together Our Small Successes, Make A Huge Impact!” We are a present help in a time of trouble.
We provide SUPPORT GROUPS to help individual and families heal from loss, grief, depression, and acceptance of the devastating event that happened in their life. LIFE COACHING to help families put a plan in place to get their life back on track. We have a DONATION CENTER AND FOOD PANTRY in response to the recent flood disaster that affected our communities, city, and state.
We’ve received a tremendous response and support from people that are willing to be a "PRESENT HELP PARTNER" in a time of need. Thanks to our partnership with Nourishing Louisiana to help feed 300 people every Sunday that were affected by the flood. Our volunteers are “Foot Soldiers” that go out every day to reach out and identify families in needs from parishes primarily affected by the flood including East and North Baton Rouge, Livingston, Ascension, East and West Feliciana, and Lafayette. We have received donations from 30 cities from various states including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Illinois, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.
This is not a temporary assignment for our organization. We realize that people have lost everything and are rebuilding from the ground up. Through our divine connections, we will be the foundation and help rebuild the lives of families in our city! People of Purpose has implemented a year-long project to help families during each transitional phase of this process by meeting the needs of the whole family through 4 phases to lead to total transformation which include the following phases to overcome life challenges:
1) Relief - meeting the immediate needs first
2) Recovery - guiding them through the loss, grief, or habits to a normal state of health, mind, and strength
3) Restore - healing from the past hurt and pain to wholeness
4) Regain Stability - create a plan of action or blueprint for success to live a life full of purpose
